The establishment of what will eventually be a 44 acre vineyard is well advanced with the planting in the spring of 2007 of the first tranch of Vidal, Cab Franc and Traminette type vines totalling 12 acres.
In addition a 1 acre Concord vineyard was established to cater for the self pick visitors to our farm and vineyard. The use of herbicides is banned and weed eradication is carried out by mechanical tilling of the vine rows. Our efforts in 2008 will be confined to pruning and training the vines with a hoped for small crop in the year 2009. We continue to work closely with extension scientists and experts from the OARDC.

The weather has been particularly kind to us and we have enjoyed an excellent spring
and summer growth season. Indeed growth has been quite spectacular and we look forward
to continue to work with the OADC
and the OSU to produce a commercial grape
crop in 2009.

We have also commenced the licence application process which
will eventually lead to cellar sales and the production of wines at the estate.”
