Our mission with LongHedges Fiber Studio & Farm is to introduce the community to and sustain them in a life associated with natural fibers. We feel passionately that the utilization of natural fiber in our everyday lives is a healthy choice and offer you a chance to acquire your own fiber producing alpaca.

We feed the animals at our Fiber Farm an organic diet complemented by a natural mineral supplement which we believe accounts for the high quality fiber they produce for our use in return. We obtain very clean, lustrous fiber from our friendly, happy and healthy animals.

Jackson Brown: DOB 11.26.05 Dark Maroon Male
Mr Brown posses a much sought after color in the fiber arts world as well as in the show ring. He is a dark Maroon boy, 2 years old who has been with us since he was 6 months old. Jackson Brown has an inquisitive and fun temperament.

Sugar Ray: DOB 07.12.06 True Black Male
Sugar Ray is a beautiful deep black born to a True Black mum here at LongHedges Estate. He is calm and kind and never a bully in the paddock. Sugar Ray’s father is the show ring winner SA Peruvian Excelsior. Sugar Ray’s fleece is stunning when made into yarn and I have stocked this yarn in the studio in both 2007 and 2008.

Milo: DOB 02.01.07 Med Brown Male
Milo is a lovely chocolaty color perfect for blending with other shades of brown. I have used some of Milo in a brindle roving with great turn out. Another calm tempered, happy go lucky guy with great color and fineness.
