Angela Seymour of Longhedges Fiber Studio

LongHedges Fiber Studio is owned and operated by myself and my daughter Freya-Snow Seymour. Together with our family: Snow’s Daddy, Warren, the Alpacas, Angora goats, three dogs and a parrot, we live on the restful and inspiring fifth generation family estate LongHedges in Amish Country, Ohio.

Our mission with LongHedges Fiber Studio is to help others enjoy creativity in ancient hand skills in association with natural fibers. We stock over 25 kinds of Natural fibers all sourced from North American Farms and Ranches and all procured completely without harm to the animals. We feed the animals at our Fiber Farm an organic diet which we believe accounts for the high quality fiber they produce for our use in return.

We feel passionately that the utilization of natural fiber in our everyday lives offers balance to our high tech and often fast paced lifestyle and has a positive effect the environment, on us and on those around us. Additionally, Natural Fiber is family safe and healthy choice for wearing and using around the home.

Next year, 2009, has been designated the ‘International Year of Natural Fiber’ by the United Nations and we are particularly pleased and supportive of this appointment.

In the first four or five hundred years of fiber’s use in history, only the most common materials were used: Cotton, Silk and later Wool. Today we have a plethora of unique and fascinating fibers to choose from enabling the artist to lend specific character to the item he or she will create and gives everyone healthy choices for its use in daily life.

Enjoy Fiber, Enjoy the Fiber Arts!
