Visitors are always welcome to our 5th generation farm which was established in the mid 1800’s.

Longhedges's Alpacas are breed from the finest Accoyo Peruvian bloodlines emphasising quality and improvement in conformation and fleece fineness and handle.

Our property comprises 90 acres of excellent pasture and crop land with five artesian springs and is located in Amish Country in Wayne County Ohio. The main Bank Barn is in excess of 100 years old with original hand hewn beams and there are 8 mini barns on the property with heated Nelson Waterers serving 12 excellent organic pastures for our Alpacas.

The property is a Mecca for Indian arrow head hunters with numerous arrow heads, flints and axes having been found on the property over the years. Carbon dating shows these finds to date back to 9,500 BC (11,500 years ago) belonging to the Paleo people. When visiting you will see the remains of an archaeological dig in the 17 acres of woods on the property and if you are lucky you may find an arrow head.

Visitors to our farm can also visit our retail outlet in Kidron where we sell all natural fibers, yarns and alpaca products and while there visit Lehman Hardware Store nearby and observe, first hand the Amish culture prevalent throughout the region. Simply Smuckers is located five minute west of our farm and well worth the visit.
